Directions:
There are a few options, all of them take about 3.5+ hrs from the San Francisco Bay Area / Contra Costa County.


Our choice (~220 miles from Concord):
Hwy 80 to VACAVILLE, exit to Hwy 505 North, continue North through WINTERS, merge to Hwy 5 North; continue North through WILLIAMS, exit at Maxwell Road (about 7-8 miles beyond WILLIAMS); Right on Maxwell, on t-intersection with hwy 45 turn Left; in Butte City (village!), turn Right onto Hwy 162; Left on Hwy 99, Right on Oroville Dam Blvd. toward Hwy 70 to OROVILLE; continue North on Hwy 70 through Feather River Canyon to QUINCY; About 6 miles before Quincy, you'll cross a tall bridge over SPANISH CREEK, followed soon by "Keddie Resort". After about 2-3 miles, watch for sign CHANDLER ROAD***(see maps above) on the left and a mobile park on the right. Slow down almost to a stop and turn RIGHT onto BLACKHAWK ROAD, immediately behind the mobile park. (If you see _RANGER STATION_, you are too far on Hwy 70/89). On Blackhawk Road, drive to the end of the paved road. According to the dirt roads condition, park on this paved cul-de sac and walk /or drive/ to the cabin via the dirt road on your right that says BUSHMANS PRIVATE ROAD. Less than 10m after the sign "BUSHMANS PRIVATE ROAD" enter the property through a metal rope gate on your right and go on uphill to the cabin. /Stay on the paved cul-de-sac when there is snow on the dirt roads. The road to the cabin is usually too soft for most vehicles. It's a short walk from the parking. Someone with 4x4 can pick up your stuff, food...

Other option (~230 miles from Concord):
Hwy 80 to SACRAMENTO, continue on 80 toward RENO (right lanes), exit (after ~6 miles) to Hwy 99/ 5 toward REDDING, merge on Hwy 5 Northbound and exit to 70/99 to MARRYSVILLE, then to 70 to OROVILLE and QUINCY. See the details of the final drive in the Option above..

One more option (a great chance of chains in winter); (~240 miles):
Hwy 80 to SACRAMENTO, Hwy 80 Northbound to TRUCKEE. In Truckee, exit to Hwy 89 to SIERRAVILLE / Sattley / Calpine / Blairsden / Quincy. Hwy 89 merges with Hwy 70 in Blairsden with left turn onto Hwy 70/89 continuing to QUINCY. Drive through Quincy, go Northbound for about 3+ more miles from downtown (still on Hwy 70/89). After passing RANGERS' STATION on your left (and then a couple of houses) watch for Chandler Road*** on the right and Blackhawk Road on the left side (next to a mobile park); turn left onto Blackhawk Road and drive to its paved end. According to the dirt roads condition, walk or drive onto the dirt road on your right that says BUSHMANS PRIVATE ROAD. Less than 10m after the sign "BUSHMANS PRIVATE ROAD" enter the property through a metal rope gate on your right; walk or drive uphill to the cabin.
